Light filled Andras’ view as he tapped into Bianca’s vision, being greeted by Amber who had just finished hosting him. The blank stare disappeared rather quickly as the girl blinked and removed her hands from his shoulders.
“Welcome back bud.” Bianca said with as much faux sensuality as she could muster. Andras chuckled internally as he moved to grab her bag and head for the door. Right before he wrapped his hand around the door handle, Amber called out, “I’ll be home around 4:30, make sure you two have cleaned up by then yeah?”
Turning his head he found a ‘You know what I’m talking about’ look on her face, deciding against taking the bait he simply nodded and dashed out the door as quickly as he could. Despite that not being in the cards for today, he knew better than to challenge her.
It was however time for something he’d been looking forward to all week, today was the day Kiera had agreed to go on a date with him and Bianca was along for the ride. Not that she was sad, he noted as she hummed contently on the short walk through the hallway to their friends room.
Upon reaching the door he looked down to give Bianca’s body a once over, that day the girl had picked out a short pair of jeans and a loose black top which wasn’t quite her normal style.
“I figured something a little more conservative would help put your best foot forward.” She said.
“Thanks, seeing you in different clothing might make it a bit easier for her to visualize me being the one she’s on the date with.” He replied, gathering his courage to knock on the door.
Only a few seconds passed before he was greeted by the sight of his hot date. Kiera had worn a long pair of jeans fit with a white dress shirt, jean jacket and what looked like a plain black bra underneath. After a few seconds of just wordlessly looking her up and down she broke the silence, “See something you like?” She said with a giggle.
“Hey Kiera! Ready to go?” He asked politely.
“Of course, are you going to tell me where we’re going or are you still gonna keep that to yourself?” She asked, closing the door behind her.
“Be patient, all will be revealed in due time!” He said mysteriously as he led her out of the dorm.
========================================================================
“I really should have guessed you’d start with this.” Kiera said cheerfully before popping a tiny sushi roll in her mouth.
Swallowing his mouthful, “Well, it is your favorite so I’m pretty sure that’s worth a few points.”
“Touche.”
“You’re awfully quiet.” He thought to Bianca with a mouthful of sushi, the fish tasted really good, it must be really fresh.
“I’m just trying to let you two enjoy yourselves, just try and forget I’m here ok?” She said with an uncharacteristically serious tone. He would have to ask her about that later, he supposed.
“So how was Sarah’s game?” His date asked him, bringing his attention back to her,
“Oh you know, it took a little while but I eventually got the hang of it. Thank heck for that, otherwise I don’t think she’d ever want to have anything to do with me.” He said sheepishly.
“Oh Sarah doesn’t really hate you, she’s just…” She paused, seemingly not even knowing what she was going to say. “She’s just Sarah, hopefully the pair of you will continue to make progress. For all of our sake.”
Andras only lightly sighed in response as he noticed Kiera’s eye catch something behind him shortly before her expression soured. Sparing a glance behind him, he immediately noticed what had elicited such an expression. None other than Victoria and two of her cronies had just walked in, whipping his head back around to Kiera, “It’s ok, hopefully she won’t notice us and we can just enjoy our time.” He assured her.
But Kiera only looked behind him and frowned at what he guessed was the trio standing right behind him.
“Wow I guess they’ll really let anyone eat in here these days, do these people know what kind of filth they’re eating with?” Victoria’s snarky tone was like nails on a chalkboard to the demon. He clenched Bianca’s hands together subconsciously as he fought his demonic impulses to tear her a new one.
“Hey, ease up! Those are my hands you’re straining.” Bianca remarked from within, snapping him out of his stupor.
“Can’t you just leave us alone for once?” Kiera pleaded with the blonde, rising from her chair to meet the girl’s gaze.
“You two are the ones bothering me and my friends with your mere presence. I shouldn’t have my favorite place to eat get spoiled by a couple of demons.” She declared, shifting her pink purse further onto her shoulder.
Most of the restaurant had gone quiet as they paused to pay attention to the commotion. Knowing who she was, no one wanted to stand up for the pair being accosted as they knew exactly what getting in her way could do to them. Even the staff seemed to try and ignore it.
“Come on Bianca, let’s leave. She isn’t worth it.” Kiera said, grabbing her bag from underneath the table.
Forcibly relaxing, Andras unclenched his fists with an exaggerated grin sigh.
“What are you groaning about?” Victoria said nastily as she moved to stand at the end of the table between the pair, crossing her arms.
“You know Victoria, I think I can posit a guess as to why you’re such a cunt.” He said calmly.
All pairs of eyes went wide as they heard Andras’ statement. You could hear a pin drop in the room. “What did you just say!?” Victoria screeched, sounding unnerved.
“Come on, Bianca, forget about her.” Kiera told him, staring at him worriedly. Andras had finally had enough though and judging by the beaming excitement coming from Bianca, so was she.
“No no, it’s ok Kiera. You see, Victoria, you have the social standing you do because of your daddy’s money but now that you’re in your last year of college you’re realizing just how much time you’ve wasted sucking off your friends’ boyfriends in the bathroom and you have no idea what you’re going to do. So you pick on us to make yourself feel better about the fact that once you’re out in the real world, you’re not going to amount to anything except being the same cruel, conceited, egocentric cunt that you’ve always been. How’s that? Am I in the ballpark?”
If the restaurant was shocked before they were stunned now but they weren’t quite finished with their surprises as they watched Victoria’s hand raise before being flung towards the seated girl’s face. There wasn’t any slap heard but there was a gasp from Victoria as she felt her strike get caught by the wrist and the table swiftly approaching her face as the girl rose, twisted her in her grip and slammed her down against the table, a hand being placed on her back to prevent her from getting up.
“UGH! Ugh! Let go of me you filthy bastard! I’m going to sue!” She screamed underneath him.
“Let go of her!” Chanted Victoria’s minions but before they could close the distance between themselves, Andras felt a large hand clasp his shoulder as an even larger man stepped in between them.
Andras was expecting a fight but the man’s angry expression wasn’t aimed at him. His eyes were locked on the smooshed face of his victim, “How many times have I told you not to cause trouble in my restaurant? I’ve had it with you! Get out an’ never come back!” He yelled, pulling her off the table and forcing her, and the drones, towards the door.
“I’m going to tell my father!” She cried out as she tried collecting herself outside.
“Good! An’ then maybe I’ll tell him what his daughter is really like!” He said, slamming the door, dusting his hands, “Good riddance.” He exclaimed before turning his attention back to the pair he’d just ‘rescued’.
Andras stood confidently, “I’m not in any trouble for this am I?”
The large man shook his head, “No, I saw the whole thing. I would have stopped it sooner but I was too enthralled by your monologue. That was a mighty fine burn lassie.” He remarked with a smirk, “But the fact o’ the matter is that I didn’t intervene so to apologize for that, you and your friend’s meal are on the house. Enjoy!” He said before walking off, eyeing his staff and the restaurant to return back to their business.
They did so rather quickly now that it didn’t seem like anything more interesting was going to happen. As the volume in the place picked up again, Andras turned his attention to Kiera who was beaming at him. He was quickly wrapped in a hug by the girl which he gladly returned.
“Way to go Andras! It’s hard to believe you’re capable of such a speech with less than a year of English under your belt.” His friend commented from within.
“Oh lord, I’m glad someone finally put that bitch in her place. I really wish it had been me though.” Kiera said, breaking off the embrace before the two sat back down to enjoy their meal.
========================================================================
“Surprise!” Yelled the group as Kiera opened the door to see the rest of her friends.
“What’s all this?” She asked incredulously, shuffling inside with Andras.
“Well Andras here wanted to surprise you with an Impromptu session of DnD given that we haven’t been able to run a session for the past few weeks.” Sarah announced from behind her DM screen.
“Arcades, Sushi and taking that bitch Victoria down a peg wasn’t enough huh?” Kiera said, eyeing him suspiciously.
“Andras did what?” Lena asked, standing up from her chair.
“Hold on, how about we let Bianca explain this? She’s had to be quiet all day.” Andras suggested, looking towards the approaching Lena.
“Sure, well it is time for DnD.” The neon-haired girl answered passively. The group watched patiently as Andras transferred from Bianca to Lena in what seemed like record time as he quickly had control of her body.
“Welcome back.” She said warmly
“Good to be back.”
“Oh my god! So Andras was unbelievably badass today, the three of us were enjoying sushi when Victoria and her cronies came in…” Bianca began.
“God damn! How did it feel to slam that bitches face into the table like that?” Amber asked, the group looking toward him eagerly. Save for Kiera who seemed a little shy at the retelling.
Andras smirked as he recalled holding her face against the hard wooden table, “Yeah… it felt pretty good I’m not gonna lie. It was overdue.”
“You can say that again.” Sarah added, “I’ve been wanting to do that for months, let’s hope that she leaves us alone but I doubt we’ve heard the last of her.”
That last comment brought down the mood as they thought of all the ways that preppy bitch might get back at them, “I’m sorry guys, I probably should have thought it through before acting out like that.” Andas apologized.
“No, you fought back for us, don’t apologize for that.” Bianca exclaimed, “Now! Let’s play before we waste too much of the night.”
The group broke out their dice, sheets and minis before settling down to play. Lena noticed Andras seemed to tune out a little as Sarah began narrating, “Are you ok?” She asked him softly.
He shifted slightly to try and look like he was paying attention as Bianca bartered with Sarah who was playing a merchant. “Yeah… I’m just thinking about what Sarah said. We might have all wanted to do what I did but what she might do to get back at you guys.” He answered her.
“Don’t beat yourself up about it, what’s done is done and if anything comes from it we’ll deal with it as a team. Just no more acting out like that, yeah?” She assured him.
“Ok.”
“Now eyes on the game! We’re up next.” She reminded him, snapping him back to reality as Bianca finished purchasing her goods from the witty merchant.
Andras really enjoyed playing the game with the girls, when he initially started researching the game for his mission he’d thought it was rather silly but once he got to play the game, he understood why humans enjoyed the game as much as they did. Looking down at his character’s mini, a human girl draped in a large cloak with two bright green eyes peering from underneath.
When the group had returned from the Island, the group had realized that Andras was essentially playing himself and Lena was a little disappointed that they’d started the campaign without them but they’d managed to come up with a solution to their unique problem. Andras’ character was redone from a Kobold into a custom race, it had taken a LOT of back and forth with Sarah to ensure the mechanics introduced were as balanced as possible but they were all pretty happy with what they had come up with.
Andras’ character was currently sharing the body of a tough as nails mercenary, Lena’s character, who agreed to shelter him in exchange for his power. He really wasn’t too far from being her patron at this point but, if need be, the two could be separated which had led to some interesting shenanigans over the past few months.
After the pair finished their bit of roleplay for the night, Lena decided to ask him about his day. “Other than the incident with Victoria, did you two have a good time?”
“Yeah we enjoyed our sushi and the arcades were fun, Kiera was really good at it but Bianca and I didn’t have much luck to be honest.” He explained as Amber and Bianca stategised about what course of action they’d take next.
“Do you two think you’ll go on another one?”
“I think so, she seemed to enjoy it.” He answered, doing his absolute best to keep his doubts from her. “But?” She enquired.
“But what? I didn’t say anything.” He said, trying to avoid her implication. “You didn’t have to, you know the connection we share. We don’t always talk about it but I think we need to address it…” She replied mysteriously.
“Why? Did something happen?” He asked.
“It’s probably better if I show you, let’s see if I can’t share it with you.” She said as he felt her attempting to breach the thin barriers separating their consciousnesses. He felt her body twitch slightly as he felt the connection forming and a foreign memory began flickering into his mind.
His mind’s eye was filled with light and what looked like the familiar perspective of his friend, she was in her room getting ready for classes that day when she dropped her phone down the wall side of her bed, groaning in annoyance she tried fishing for it on that same side but it seems to have gone further underneath than she could reach.
Getting off the bed with a sigh she crouched down to lift it up, after a second of ensuring she had the proper form to not hurt her back she braced herself and hefted it upwards. To her complete surprise, the bed nearly flew out of her hands with the burst of momentum and would have likely bumped the wall had she not tightened her grip in time.
Andras could feel a sense of confusion emanate from the girl as she was able to hold up the side of the bed with just one hand, “You see what I mean right?” She asked as his vision of the game returned, Bianca and Sarah were still going back and forth about some quest they were taking on.
“Definitely… and you think this is because of me?” He asked quizzically.
“Well duh, it was you who pointed out that I was starting to get abs last week and now this? You know I eat pretty well but I definitely don’t workout often enough to warrant that strength. Have… any of the other girls told you about any changes?” She enquired as he shifted his sitting position to try and pay a bit more attention to the game.
“Not that I know of… I mean this doesn’t make a lot of sense because I’ve known demons who’d spent years inside of their hosts and not physiological changes ever occurred. The only one who did was…” He trailed off.
“The demon queen…” She finished for him.
“But this doesn’t make any sense because she would have to spend at least a few years inside her host before they would start turning purple and sprouting scales. We’ve only been together for roughly six months and even though I’m with you more than the rest I only really spend, at most, a quarter or a third of that time with you.” He explained.
“Well there must be something causing these unnatural changes, they don’t seem too worrying at the moment but I’d honestly rather not wake up a big purple demon… no offense.”
“None taken, I wouldn’t want that for you either but you do have a point, we need to look into this to make sure it’s safe for me to be with you guys.”
“But how are we supposed to go about that? It sounds like a completely uncharted area of biology, unless you’ve read some studies on what routine demonic possession might do to a young woman’s body?” She teased, bringing up the atmosphere of the conversation a bit.
“Very funny.” He said, rolling her eyes. “But in all seriousness, I think we should talk to Sarah about this. She should have some idea of where to at least start our line of enquiry.” He explained.
“That makes sense.”
“Question is, should we let the other girls know?” He asked
The demon felt the girl ponder his question for a while, he smiled as Amber loudly exclaimed an action her character took and the rest of the girls giggled.
“We’ll keep it on the down low for a few days and see if Sarah can find anything out. I don’t want to worry them unnecessarily.” She finally said, her answer did surprise him a little but he understood her logic and gave her a mental nod in agreement.
“So! Shall we get back to what we were talking about before?” She said suddenly, Andras felt her mood shift to coy very quickly as he realized she hadn’t forgotten about his reservations.
“I… don’t know what you’re talking about.” He replied as coolly as he could.
“Come on, I didn’t forget. There was a but when you were talking about how your date went and I’m not letting you hide it, you may as well just tell me.” She interrogated him.
Letting out a mental sigh at the girls pestering he found himself wondering how he, a demon, came to be in such a situation. “One thing Bianca left out in her explanation was Kiera’s attempt to stop me from doing anything, she tried twice to get me to leave but I ignored her.”
“Is that all?” She asked, surprising him. “What?” He asked.
“It really isn’t that big of a deal. I can’t speak for her, not with any certainty at least, but just ask her about it and I’m sure it will be fine” She explained, “You goddamn nerd…” She added.
“Ok, if you say so.” He replied, ignoring her little jab.
“Just one more thing before we have to join in properly with the girls.”
“Oh, what is it now?” He asked in mock annoyance.
“Oh come off it. Anyway, my question was… why did you go on your first date with Kiera in Bianca’s body? I know you two have your little thing going on but I didn’t think Kiera was privy.” She said as a matter of factly.
“I… wasn’t certain you knew but I should have guessed as much. Well it kind of just happened to be honest, Bianca was the one who encouraged me to ask her out and when Kiera agreed we thought it was appropriate to come clean to her about what we’d been up to. Surprisingly she wasn’t too bothered but she wanted us to promise not to fool around while she and I were trying things out.” He explained.
“Right but how does that end up with you going as Bianca?” She enquired.
“Well Bianca had a counter offer of her ow-” He started, “Ahhh. She insisted on being Kiera’s ‘date’ in exchange, huh?” She finished for him to which he just gave her another mental nod.
“Well… if you and Kiera are going to have any form of relationship, you won’t be able to rely only on Bianca to hang out. Make sure to ask Kiera if she would mind adding me into the mixture.” She told him.
“Are you sure? We could probably make do as is.”
“I’m sure, now let’s get back to the game before they notice we almost completely zoned ou- well before the rest of them find out.” She said.
Out of the corner of his eye he could see Kiera faintly smiling at him, finally turning his attention to what’s going on in front of him, he flashed her a short, acknowledging smile before joining in.
