“Now remember Andras, we can’t just rely on Kiera. We gotta make sure that we are contributing just as much this session ok?” Lena asked him as they walked down the hall towards Kiera’s room, laptop in hand.
“Of course, I’ll do my best.” He responded absentmindedly.
The demon was a little distracted thinking about seeing Kiera again after what happened the last time they saw each other a few days ago. A tinge of embarrassment stirred within him, he hoped Lena didn’t notice it but if she did she didn’t get much of a chance as the pair nearly barrelled into a girl leaving her room.
“Oop sorry! Oh hey Lena, it’s been a while.” A familiar looking hispanic girl in blue overalls greeted them with a smile.
“Oh hey…” Andras started, blanking on her name for the moment.
“AUDREY” Lena ‘shouted’ over their connection.
“… Audrey, yeah it has. How have you been?” He asked, returning the girl’s smile.
“Who is this girl again?” He carefully asked her to which he just received a scoff.
Audrey raised an eyebrow at the hesitation, “Hey I know it’s been a couple weeks since we last caught up but I didn’t think you’d be forgetting my name!” She said teasingly.
“Ahaha sorry I’m just a little tired, I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.” He explained, rubbing his neck with a weak smile.
“Seriously though, you should remind me.” He pleaded with his friend.
“…Fine… lets see she’s…” Lena started before trailing off.
“Yeah that sounds about right, well to answer your question, I’ve been fine. I’ve been making some great progress on my special project, I even managed to acquire some really rare samples for the lab.” She exclaimed cheerfully.
Just as Andras was starting to wonder what was taking Lena so long, what felt like a jolt of electricity shot through his mind as the barriers between himself and Lena weakened. Flashes of memories Lena has with Audrey shot across the ‘bridge’ that formed between them but it dissipated just as quickly as it had disappeared as the stream broke, leaving the confused demon with a much better understanding of the girl in front of him. He ‘remembered’ meeting the girl on ‘his’ first day of university, getting a tour of her lab and a recent conversation about her struggles getting funding from the university.
Not pausing to question it he eagerly answered the girl with his knew recall, “Oh yeah I think you told me about this before, you were trying to get some funding so you could purchase some of those unique seeds?” He asked.
Audrey lit up at the question, clasping her hands in front of her, “Yes! I planted them almost immediately and they should be flowering sometime next week.” She explained.
“Oh nice, I’m guessing you’re on your way there now?”
“Yeah I’ve gotta be there by… oh shit, sorry Lena I gotta go! I’ll finish catching up with you soon I promise, cya!” Audrey said quickly, closing her door and scampering down the stairs without waiting for a goodbye.
“Lena what was that?” The demon asked, concerned.
“Well I didn’t want to explain it to you while you were talking so I tried my best to ‘will’ the information to you but it took some effort.” She answered, sounding a little worn out.
“How did you do it?” He asked, even more confused.
“I don’t know… I just tried and it worked. Anyway Kiera’s waiting for us, we have to go, we’ll talk about this later.” She said brusquely.
Choosing not to question it for now, Andras began walking once more towards Kiera’s room at the end of the hall. Arriving and prompting knocking the door swung open a few seconds later and the pair were greeted by their smiling friend. “Morning guys, sleep well?” She asked.
“Like a rock, you?” He asked, entering her room with Kiera closing the door behind them.
“Oh same old story, I probably shouldn’t drink so many energy drinks but it’s the price I pay.” She answered with an awkward laugh to which the demon shook his head.
“So, what did you want to get started with today?” He asked, setting his laptop on the ground.
With that Andras, Lena and Kiera began work on their current animation project. They spent a few minutes discussing the storyboard and delegating tasks between them before setting about their business. Only a short while after getting underway with his own job Lena spoke up, “What was that about?”
“What was what about?” He asked quizzically.
“You two were so awkward when discussing what we were doing today, did something happen between you guys?” She enquired.
Andras paused briefly, considering sharing what happened with Lena but he came to the conclusion that even though he’s really close with Lena, he didn’t want to embarrass Kiera like that so he simply replied with, “Oh really? I didn’t notice anything.”
He felt Lena’s curiosity spike at the answer, “I think you know that I know you well enough to realize that isn’t the truth but I trust that there’s a good reason you aren’t telling me. Let’s get back to work.”
Her answer made him feel guilty about not being able to share it with her but he was happy that she trusted him enough to not pry any further so he turned his attention back to decorating the scene of their animation by inserting bushes, playing with lighting and dyeing certain objects to fit in with the scenery.
“Hey Andras, did you have a sound file for the monster screech?” Kiera spoke up, drawing the pair from their building.
“Uhh… yeah. Here we go.” Andras said as he found the file buried in Lena’s computer. Double clicking on it and setting it to play through his speakers the trio were greeted by the sound of Andras’ demon scream, surprising the two girls.
“HOLD ON!” Kiera exclaimed, “You mean to tell me, the sound we used in our original animation was YOURS!? You sneaky bastard…” She said with a smirk.
“Yeah that was awfully bold of you.” Lena chimed in.
“Hey to be fair I was still lear-” Andras started, being interrupted by Lena’s phone pinging.
Fishing it out of his pocket, he was greeted with a message that said:
“Hey darling, we’re here. We tried knocking but you didn’t answer.” -Mom
“Oh shit, I totally forgot they were coming today.” Lena told the demon, “Andras.”
“Yep.” He replied.
Looking up from the phone and at their friend, “Hey… Lena’s parents are here for a visit that she forgot about, it is ok if I switch now? She’s gotta go.” He awkwardly asked the girl.
“Uhh.. yeah sure no worries!” She replied a little hesitantly as she turned her chair to face the pair and opened her mouth.
“Thanks.” He said simply as he quickly grabbed hold of her and started gathering himself inside of Lena. The process was pretty smooth at this point as he effortlessly flowed out of Lena and into Kiera’s waiting mouth. Lena took back control quickly enough to see the last of Andras flow inside of her before her mouth slammed shut behind him.
Having spread himself throughout Kiera his vision returned to find Lena already heading for the door, “Sorry guys, gotta go! Thanks Kiera!” She said, closing the door behind her, the click of the door being the last sound before an awkward silence set over the pair.
He could feel her nervousness as both of them tried to think of something to say but it wasn’t coming easy, Andras finally broke the silence by saying the only thing he could think of, “I’m sorry I opened that folder, I didn’t think before I acted.”
“It’s… ok. You were bound to see them eventually.” She replied with a sigh.
Another brief pause before Andras grew a little bolder, “What… what are they about?” He asked.
“You’ll think I’m weird.” She said shyly.
This made Andras laugh through their connection, sparking a bit of confusion and even a little bit of hurt from the girl. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t laughing at that. I just think you’re forgetting that I’m a demon who spends his time inside of your and your friends bodies.” He said cheekily.
The mention of possession sparked a hint of an emotion, one that he only recognised from the times he’d been with Bianca. Leading him to think there must have been some truth to what their friend was saying.
“Fine, fine. I still think you’ll call me weird but… ever since the Island I’ve developed a thing for it. I didn’t think much of it at first but after a while it was just about all I could think about. Obviously I couldn’t ask you so I made some animations about it.” She explained.
“Do… do you want me to do some of that stuff?” He asked gingerly.
“Ahaha buy a girl dinner first won’t you?” She joked.
“I actually will, if you’ll let me.” He replied genuinely, surprising her.
“Don’t be silly, surely we couldn’t…”
“Do you like me?” He interjected.
“Y-yes but…” She tried.
“Then what’s stopping us from at least trying?”
Kiera paused as she mulled over what he had said. The anticipation was killing Andras as he felt her process the idea, “Ok… we can try.” She said but feeling Andras’ excitement she continued, “How would we even go out together? It’s not like you could just be inside me all the time.”
“I thought about that and I think I have a solution but I’ll have to get back to you on that one.” He offered.
“That’s not much to go on but I suppose it’s better than nothing… can we get back to work now? This is great and all but we do actually have to complete this assignment.”
“Oh yeah of course.” He said as he abruptly kicked Kiera’s body into gear and returned to her laptop. “So where were you up to?”
——————————————————————————————————————————-
The sound of Kiera’s door suddenly bursting open was enough to make Andras snap her head towards it, fight or flight kicking in immediately but instead of any danger that he was expecting, he was instead greeted by the sight of a smiling Bianca, “Surprise! And here I thought I might have caught you guys up to no good.” She said with a wink.
“Did you…!” Kiera started.
“I SWEAR I didn’t tell her about that. I only told her that I thought you had been acting strange and she helped me understand.” He assured her.
“Hey Bianca, Is it that time already?” He replied, ignoring her comment and looking outside to find the sun setting. He knew they had made a good amount of progress but he seriously hadn’t noticed the rest of the day go by.
“Yep and you know what that means.” She said cheerly, “How are you in there Kiera?” She asked with a sly smile which added to the animator’s irritation.
“She’s fine, a little tired but that’s nothing new.” He relayed.
“You know she’s always so excited to take you, it made me think there was something going on between the two of you.” Kiera commented, feeling him tense up instantly.
“Well…” He began.
“Yeah that sounds about right. Are you ready to switch?” Bianca asked, oblivious to the situation.
Before Kiera could press any further Andras spoke up, “Bianca… I think we need to tell Kiera the truth about what the two of us get up to.”
——————————————————————————————————————————-
“Is that it?” Kiera asked in a tone that shocked the pair that just felt like they were in trouble.
“Yes… that’s everything. It’s been happening semi-regularly since that night. I’m sorry but I thought you might have been more upset about this?” Andras asked from Bianca’s body, trying to discern what Kiera was thinking.
“Come now, what kind of hypocrite would I be if I got upset about you two having a similar kind of fun that I myself was fantasizing about.” She replied with an awkward smile.
Andras took a few moment before realizing it was his turn to speak, “Soo… does that mean you’re still willing to give this a go?” He asked pensively, sparing a glance outside he noticed it was now completely dark. Explaining everything to the animator had taken quite a while it seemed.
“Yes but… on one condition”
“Anything.” Andras replied sharply.
“The two of you have to agree to not fool around, at least for a little while before we figure things out.” She stipulated.
“Done.” He answered confidently, feeling Bianca’s disappointment at the agreement.
Without missing a beat, Bianca made an offer of her own that shocked Andras. So much so that he said, “Surely you’re kidding!” out loud. Kiera, knowing her friend, giggled, “What in the hell kinda shit did she just say to elicit that reaction?”
Raising his eyes to meet hers once again, “Bianca has an offer of her own.” He said sheepishly. Their animator friend raised an eyebrow and narrowed her eyes at him, “Oh? She does, does she?”
“She uh… recognises the need for a body if the two of us are to give things a shot and…”
“She wants to offer herself?” Kiera interrupted, crossing her arms with a confident smile.
“Bingo.” He said simply. “And I suppose that will include any fun times that might occur?” She interrogated him.
“Y-yes…” He muttered, a little unnerved by the two at the moment.
“Bianca if you wanted to get into my pants there were easier ways of doing it!” She said with a roll of her eyes.
“Tell her she could have let me know sooner!” Bianca demanded jovially which the demon relayed.
“Oh you really are something Bianca, I’ll give you that.” She said, taking a moment to think about it. Looking back up at the demon she gave them her answer, “Fine, I suppose I can live with that.”
Andras was ecstatic but before he could express as much Keira spoke again, “Anyway I’ve still got some more work to do so this is where we part ways. I hope I can trust you two to keep your hands to yourselves?” She said, ushering the pair out the door.
“Of course… I’ll text you later?” He asked.
“I’ll talk to you then.” Was the last thing she said before closing the door.
What neither saw of the other was Kiera grabbing either side of her head in disbelief she kept her cool for so long and Andras’ fist pump of victory.
